FotoWrapper is a software for encrypting photo files with an "owner" password. The files thus created have a file extension as .pff and they can be viewed again with FotoWrapper using a "viewer" password which is also created originally by the owner while creating owner profile. It is very simple to use. The owner of a photo using FotoWrapper creates an owner's profile, then opens a photo file (.bmp or .jpg), then saves it as .pff. A text upto 64 characters length can also be attached as key words to the file.

Today's digital photography technology has brought many opportunities of taking photographs purely for personal use. As the photos you take using a digital camera need not be sent for processing elsewhere, nobody else can see them. But for some reason you may need additional security to keep away others (children or some unwanted people) from viewing them, or in other words you may want the photos to be seen only by those whom you provide with the viewer's password.

Authenticity - 1] The original owner of the photo creates a .pff file with the current date/time stamp on his computer. This cannot be replicated again as it is not easily possible to have the exact date/time for another file. 2] The owners name can be seen in the file header information using Quickview, or on dos prompt using the command "type filename.pff"

Security - As the photo is encrypted it cannot be seen or opened with any conventional photo editing or graphics software. The photo cannot be decrypted without the viewer's password. So, only the person whom the owner has provided the viewer's password can open that photo for viewing. Also, FotoWrapper always opens a copy of the selected file, which can be saved as .bmp again. So, the original copy always remains intact.

Privacy - As the photo cannot be seen without a viewer's password, your photos remain very much private. A session is opened in FotoWrapper, when you create an owner's profile with an owner's password and a viewer's password for that owner. All the photos you save as .pff during that session have the same viewer's password. You can create as many profiles as you want. So that you can use different profiles for each other viewer and so on.

Selectivity - It becomes difficult to find a particular photo when required, as your collection of photos increases. With the unique facility to add keywords to a .pff file, selecting the required photos from hundreds of photos becomes simple, before opening them for viewing. This search feature can be particularly useful where large volumes of photos are in use.

Limitations:

· FotoWrapper will continue its working after 15 days, but you will not be able to save photos into .pff and use the search feature anymore through FotoWrapper. You will only be able to view the previously saved .pff files.
