Portable AbiWord is a fully functional package of AbiWord optimized for use on a USB key drive.

It has some specially-selected optimizations to make it perform faster and extend the life of your USB key as well as a specialized launcher that will allow you to launch it from the directory of your choice.

It will also work from a CDRW drive (in packet mode), ZIP drives, external hard drives, some MP3 players, flash RAM cards and more.

Known Issues

Dictionary Not Found - The first time AbiWord tries to access the English dictionary, it won't find it and will throw an error. I'm investigating the cause of this.

Trojan/Virus detected - Every so often, yet another of the free antivirus programs claims to detect a trojan within the portable launchers. There isn't one. It is a false positive. Contact your antivirus program provider to let them know about their error. Avast has already done this twice. Antivir once.
